Find My iPhone is automatically activated if you have iOS 7 or later installed on any of your Apple devices. As a result, activation is automatically blocked by a new user, which does not allow The BuyBack Platform to find a new owner for your device. Because of this, The BuyBack Platform will not be able to accept the device if it has an activation lock on it.
Make sure that you turn off Find My iPhone on your device before you send it in to The BuyBack Platform. Otherwise, your device will be locked and we will be unable to test it and get you paid. Just sign out of iCloud and then erase all content and settings. This completely erases your device, removes it from your Apple ID, and turns off Find My iPhone.
In iOS 10.3 or later:
-
Tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
-
Scroll down and tap Sign Out.
-
Enter your Apple ID password and tap Turn Off.
-
Go back to Settings.
-
Tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
In iOS 10.2 or earlier:
-
Tap Settings > iCloud.
-
Scroll down and tap Sign Out > Sign Out.
-
Tap Delete from My iPhone and enter your password
-
Go back to Settings.
-
Tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
PLEASE NOTE: If your device is unable to power on or you are no longer in physical possession of your device, please refer to these instructions:
-
Sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID.
-
Go to Find My iPhone.
-
Click All Devices at the top of the screen.
-
Select the device that you want to remove from iCloud.
-
If necessary, click Erase [device].
-
Click Remove from Account.
That's it! Your device is now ready to be inspected so you can be paid!
